Ian Fleming's Jamaica

Noel Coward and Fleming were tremendous friends and you can’t ask around the North Coast about either of them without hearing of how they held court with the likes of Cecil Beaton, Truman Capote, Lucian Freud, Graham Greene, Morris Cargill, Robert Harling, Patrick Leigh-Fermor, Rosamund Lehmann, Peter Quennell, Alan Ross, Stephen Spender, Evelyn Waugh and Sir Anthony & Lady Eden during the former's tenure as Prime Minister.

Coward's Firefly.

Unlike Fleming, Coward lived here much of the time, not just winters, as much for the tax dodge (craftily engineered by Morris Cargill) as for the sublime comfort.
