The inimitable Coward would entertain famously at Firefly. He also had a bit of a rivalry with Fleming over who had the better home. When Coward was building Firefly, he asked the builder how strong a pump he would need to keep the water clean. "Hit depend, Mister Cowahd, how much soap you use", Fleming recalls was the answer.
Coward and his secretary Cole Leslie were the witnesses at Fleming's wedding to Lady Anne Rothermere nearby in Port Maria. Coward was so atwitter that he tied the shoe to his own car by mistake.
