On the way to Negril from Kingston you will encounter the too harshly judged middle of Jamaica, a region of sugar plantations and some bauxite terminals. In The Man with The Golden Gun, Bond meets up with Scaramanga under the ruse of being one Mark Hazard, working to help plantation owners handle "labor relations." To this day, the plantations still factor a certain number of rebellious cane fires into their cost of doing business.
