Beau Coup serves up a martini with a generous swirl of peel.

Beau Coup is the newest establishment of the (00)7 we visited and is a restaurant/bar with an impressive private event space as well.

The style here is high-tone Paris brasserie.  The environment, as such, is just slightly casual for a true Bond experience in the main dining room, where the expansive L-shaped bar is located.  But keep your back to the diners and focus on the martini in front of you.

Made with Fris vodka from Denmark, the drink scored well for being quite cold and having a generous, if slightly gaudy, spiral of lemon peel.

The food looked & smelled quite good, and Beau Coup was clearly capturing the younger, chic crowd more than any other stop on our tour.

We wish Beau Coup well - it occupies an address that hasn't exactly been kind to the establishments that have preceded it at the original location of Alexis, and true legend in San Francisco nightlife.

Cmdrs. Griffin, Johnson and Morse make notes at the bar at  Beau Coup, a new establishment on Nob Hill.
