The basic Bond Room.
The basic Bond Room, before its semi-annual conversion; Three walls of sliding glass doors atop Nob Hill. Behind the camera was a mahogany bar and a view of the skyline. To the right was the dark, elegant cocktail lounge with grand piano and fine art on the walls. Beyond that was the main dining room and exhibition kitchen, brightened by flames from expertly handled saute pans.

Dining in the Bond Room.

Dining with 007. By the time guests began arriving for a Fall Gala, the room was filled with Bond art and interesting curios. 007 music issued continuously from the ceiling speakers and the Caviar bar would be overladen with roe and ice cold Taittinger. Dinner ensued, based on a special menu of entrees Bond enjoyed in the Fleming novels.

Gaming at Vanessi's.

Le jeux son fait. Certainly no other restaurant in San Francisco has hosted so many Baccarat games, at a full-size European table located just steps from the dining. As play commenced, the long dinner table would be quietly converted to a series of cocktail tables. Croupier Chuck Manwelling deftly works the green baize.
