While searching through the Bond one-sheet collection of a local San Francisco movie poster shop in the late-80's, I came across this marvelous advance one-sheet for Casino Royale. The problem was that some unscrupulous theatre employee had glued a swatch of brown paper over the "coming soon to this theatre" message, obviously to get more use out of the poster once the film arrived. The poster shop owner did not see the same potential in this one-sheet that I did, and took $10 for it. I proceeded to spend an afternoon with a moderately damp sponge painstakingly removing the glued-on piece of paper. With all traces of the offending overlay completely eliminated I now have a remarkable and rare piece of Bond cinema art, whose true value to me is measured by my own participation in it's restoration.
