2019 Free Agent Profile: Maxx Williams

Since he was selected in the second round of the 2015 Draft by Baltimore, Williams' career hasn't gone exactly how the Ravens had planned. They envisioned Williams continuing on with his one-handed catches, big plays downfield, and crazy hurdles over defenders that he displayed each and every saturday while at the University of Minnesota.

In four NFL seasons, Williams has just 63 catches for 497 yards and three touchdowns.

He's been slow to develop, but Williams has become a strong blocker and looks primed to potentially have his role increased with a new offense.

With Jordan Reed in his prime despite fighting off the nagging injury bug season to season, and Vernon Davis continuing to produce despite the knacks on his age, Washington may decide to bring in Williams, a young, physical tight end who may need a change of scenery to spark the potential NFL scouts sought after prior to his final season as a Golden Gopher.
