Kia MVP Of The Game: Adrian Peterson

Throughout the Redskins season, Adrian Peterson has been a focal point of the offense, proving to be a reliable option in the backfield. Additionally, the veteran runner has continued to rise in the record books moving up on numerous all-time lists in 2018. On Saturday against the Titans, both of those storylines remained constant for Peterson. The Redskins rusher provided a spark on offense and advanced on the all-time rushing list, making him the Kia MVP of the Game.

In a low scoring affair where the Washington offense used time of possession in order to remain in the game and attack the Titans defense, Peterson tied a season high with 26 carries as the Redskins continued to feed him the ball. Finishing with 119 rushing yards, his third-highest total of the season, he helped Washington move the ball down the field and extend drives, leading to a touchdown and multiple field goals.

Peterson's numbers also provided him with more historical accolades. During the game, he passed legendary running back Eric Dickerson for eighth on the all-time rushing yards lists and currently sits at 13,318 career rushing yards. His tally on Saturday also pushed him over 1,000 rushing yards on the season. For Peterson, it is the eighth time in his career he has run for 1,000 yards or more in a campaign.

Despite the overall solid day for Peterson, there was no time for him to enjoy his newest accomplishments. Following the game, the loss was the only thing sticking with the running back.

"The loss overrides that. Maybe, I don't know. Hopefully I'm able to appreciate it after Christmas or something. For the time being, I play this game to win and have an opportunity to win a championship," Peterson said. "Falling short of having that opportunity is what's heavy on my heart right now. I don't know, just gotta let this one sink in and bounce back and finish the season off on the right note."
