Redskins Activate Sundberg, Clear Brown

The Washington Redskins announced today that they have made the following roster moves:

  • The team waived cornerback David Jones and long snapper Justin Snow.
  • The team signed cornerback Domonique "D.J." Johnson to their active roster from the practice squad.
  • The team activated long snapper Nick Sundberg from the Reserve/Injured list (designated for return).
  • The team announced that Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform tackle Jammal Brown has been cleared for practice.

Jones (6-0, 197) spent the preseason with the Redskins after signing with the team as a free agent on July 24, 2012. He was released by the Redskins on Aug. 31, 2012, before joining the team again on Sept. 25, 2012.

Jones played in five games with the Redskins this season and was credited by the coaching staff with seven tackles.

Snow (6-3, 245) signed with the Redskins on Sept. 11, 2012. He played in eight games with the team this season, appearing in his 200th career regular season game against Carolina in Week 9.

Johnson (6-1, 191) signed to the Redskins' practice squad on Oct. 23, 2012. He has appeared in 10 NFL games, all with the New York Giants, playing in three games in 2009 and seven games in 2010.

Sundberg (6-0, 251) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list and designated for return on Sept. 11, 2012, after having played the second half of the team's Week 1 win at New Orleans with a broken arm.

He has appeared in 33 career NFL games, all with the Redskins.

Brown (6-6, 317) is in his third season with the Redskins after originally joining the team by trade on July 19, 2010.

The veteran of 85 career NFL games was placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list with a hip injury on Aug. 27, 2012.
