LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins Draft Day Dash 5K presented by the Great American Milk Drive will take place at FedExField on Saturday, May 2.

This year's race will end inside FedExField, allowing participants the unique opportunity to experience the team's stadium by running through the player tunnels and finishing on the 50-yard line. All participants will receive an official Redskins Draft Day Dash 5K T-shirt, as well as a commemorative pin as part of the Potomac River Running Race Series. Kids can participate in Redskins PLAY 60 Fun Runs throughout the afternoon free of charge.

A portion of proceeds will benefit the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, whose mission is to make a positive impact on youth development in the greater Washington, D.C. area, focusing on health and wellness, education and community outreach.

Following the race, participants can enjoy the excitement and entertainment of the annual Redskins Draft Day Party featuring a performance by Washington, D.C. native and Grammy-nominated, international rap superstar Wale and a free Bud Light for any runners over the age of 21.

"The Draft Day Dash 5K is an amazing opportunity for Redskins fans to come together in a positive and healthy way to celebrate the excitement of the 2015 NFL Draft, all while benefiting the incredible youth serving organizations we partner with to give back to children in our community," said Jane Rodgers, Executive Director for the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation.

Tanya Snyder, wife of Redskins owner Dan Snyder will be in attendance, in addition to Redskins alumni, current players and the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders.

To register for the race or for more information and a complete schedule of events, visit http://www.redskins.com/5k.

In an effort to strengthen community involvement, the Redskins Charitable Foundation launched two competitions to further promote health and wellness within area schools and businesses. The Redskins School Team Challenge will reward the school with the most registered runners with a $10,000 donation to benefit health and wellness initiatives as well as a PLAY 60 event and Redskins player appearance at their school.

The Corporate Team Community Challenge is open to all local businesses and non-profits. The team with the most 5K participants will receive a $10,000 donation in their name to a charity of their choice.

The Great American Milk Drive is the first national program to help deliver highly desired and nutrient-rich gallons of milk to hungry families who need it most, made possible by the nation's dairy farmers and milk companies. According to Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization, milk is one of the items most requested by food bank clients—however, because it is rarely donated, there is a nationwide shortage. By visiting http://www.milklife.com/give, contributors can donate milk for as little as $5 to a family in need in their own community.

The Redskins Draft Day Dash 5K is one of many events that demonstrate the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation's commitment to ensuring Redskins fans of all ages stay active and take steps to combat childhood obesity.
