The Redskins have signed cornerback Brandyn Thompson to the practice squad, the team announced on Monday.
Thompson was on the Redskins' 53-man roster the first four games but was released to make room for veteran cornerback Phillip Buchanon, back from a four-game suspension.
Thompson cleared waivers, allowing the Redskins to bring him back on the practice squad.
To make room for Thompson on the practice squad, the Redskins released cornerback Nate Ness.
Thompson played in two of the Redskins' four games this season, seeing action as a reserve cornerback.
Buchanon begins his 10th NFL season and second with the Redskins.
