Redskins Rookie Community Club And Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation Host Care Package Event

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, in partnership with Fear 2 Freedom (F2F), will assemble care packages for victims of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault on Monday, June 15 from 1-2:30 p.m.at Redskins Park in Ashburn, Va.

All Redskins rookies, as well as Redskins staff, will listen to a sexual assault survivor prior to assembling the kits. F2F Kits will then be distributed to Inova Health System Ewing Forensic Assessment and Consultation Teams (FACT) and other local domestic violence shelters.

F2F was founded in 2011 by Rosemary Trible, a victim of sexual assault. She found that individuals coming to the hospital for treatment, or the PERK (Physical Evidence Recovery Kit) exam, after sexual assault do not realize that all of their clothes have to be kept for evidence.

These F2F Kits include new clothing, toiletries, toys for the children, a "Freedom Bear" and storybook that serves as a counseling tool. Beth Walters, forensic nurse at Riverside Health Systems recently told F2F, "I can't imagine doing the PERK exam without these F2F Kits."
