The Washington Redskins on Saturday announced the signing of Deshazor Everett, a Texas A&M product who is known for his hard hitting.

The Washington Redskins announced today they have signed cornerback Deshazor Everett, an undrafted rookie out of Texas A&M.

The Washington Redskins on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, announced the signing of cornerback Deshazor Everett. Take a look back at his college football career at Texas A&M.

In a corresponding move, the team released linebacker Dasman McCullum.

Everett, who spent time at both cornerback and safety in his career at Texas A&M, is perhaps best known for his game-sealing, fourth-down interception of A.J. McCarron at the goal line to defeat No. 1 Alabama, 29-24, in 2012.

His NFL.com draft profile, meanwhile, says Everett "plays extremely hard."

"Loves to hit and eats glass out on the field," it continues. "Good strength to press and reroute at the line of scrimmage."

Deshazor played in 50 career games with the Aggies, collecting 218 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 26 pass breakups, five interceptions (three returned for touchdowns) and one fumble recovery.

He was also a key member of Texas A&M's special teams unit, where he can be a difference maker in the NFL, according to his NFL.com draft profile.

Everett's signing comes the day after cornerback Bashaud Breeland was carted off the practice field after suffering an apparent knee injury. Breeland will be out until at least Week 2 of the regular season.
