The Redskins announced today that they have signed free agent fullback Dorson Boyce. The Redskins also waived offensive lineman Nevin McCaskill.

Boyce joins Darrel Young as the only other fullback currently on the roster.

Boyce (6-1, 237) was originally signed out of Washington as a college free agent by the Seattle Seahawks on July 26, 2011.

He was released on Aug. 16, 2011, before being re-signed two days later. He was released on Sept. 3, 2011, prior to the start of the regular season.

Boyce played in four preseason games for the Seahawks, totaling two rushes for 11 yards (5.5 avg) and four catches for 28 yards (7.0 avg).

Boyce played collegiately at Washington from 2009-10, appearing in nine games with the Huskies. He spent the 2006-08 seasons at Allan Hancock College (Calif.).

In 2008, Boyce was named to the All-Northern National Conference team and All-California Region III first team.

Boyce was born June 25, 1988, and attended Bayside (N.Y.) H.S., where he was named second-team All-City and second-team All-Queens as a senior, playing tight end and defensive end.

McCaskill (6-3, 309) was signed to a Reserve/Futures contract on Jan. 3, 2012.

**In a separate note, rookie cornerback Chase Minnifield has cleared waivers and has been placed on the team's Injured Reserve list.
