Redskins Fall To Falcons In Week 9 Matchup

The Washington Redskins are taking on the Atlanta Falcons at FedExField looking for their fourth consecutive victory. Check out a running list of the highlights from the game.

With the Falcons already ahead 7-0 and threatening to score again, the Redskins defense came up with a huge turnover to shift the momentum. Returning from injury, cornerback Quinton Dunbar intercepted Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan to set the Washington offense up with the football.

Later in the drive, following a completion to wide receiver Maurice Harris to put the Redskins just a few yards shy of the end zone, Smith connected with receiver Josh Doctson for the Redskins' first score of the game. The touchdown cut the Falcons lead to 14-7 and capped an 11 play, 80-yard drive for the offense.

A score from the Falcons in the final minute of the second quarter sent the Redskins into the half trailing 21-7.

The Falcons scored a touchdown on the opening possession of the second half to take a 28-7 lead.

On second-and-6, Maurice Harris pulled in a 33-yard catch, using one hand, to put the Redskins in Falcons territory.

After converting on fourth down, the Redskins finished off the drive with a three-yard rushing touchdown by Kapri Bibbs, cutting the lead to 28-14.

With 7:13 left in the fourth quarter the Falcons kicked a 27-yard field goal to take a 31-14 lead. With 3:55 left in the game Julio Jones took a screen pass 35 yards for his first touchdown of the season, pushing the Falcons' lead to 38-14.
