Rogers, Arrington Among Inactives

Linebacker LaVar Arrington and cornerback Carlos Rogers were both declared inactive prior to Sunday's 35-7 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Arrington has been hampered by a lingering thigh injury while Rogers has a biceps injury suffered in the Dec. 11 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Warrick Holdman replaced Arrington in the lineup for the second consecutive game. On third downs, Chris Clemons came into the game as a pass rushing linebacker.

The Redskins entered preparations for the Cowboys game uncertain about the health of their secondary.

Shawn Springs had a groin injury and Walt Harris had a calf injury, but both were healthy enough to start. With Rogers sidelined, third-year player Ade Jimoh and rookie Dimitri Patterson saw increased playing time as the third cornerback.

Patterson would record his first career interception on the last play of the game.

Safety Matt Bowen was also deactivated for the game. Bowen has been slowed by a knee injury and was listed as questionable on the injury report.

The Redskins' complete list of inactive players was as follows: Arrington, Bowen, Rogers, Bowen, running back Nehemiah Broughton, defensive linemen Ryan Boschetti and Aki Jones and wide receiver James Thrash. The third quarterback is Jason Campbell.

Thrash, who had missed the last three games due to a hamstring injury, was listed as probable, but coaches decided to give him another week of rest.

Dallas entered Sunday's game with just one player listed on the injury report: backup defensive end Chris Canty was listed as probable with an ankle injury. Canty will be available to play, however.

The Cowboys' complete list of inactive players was as follows: safety Lynn Scott, offensive linemen Marcus Price, Cory Procter and Stephen Peterman, defensive end Junior Glymph, tight end Sean Ryan and linebacker Eric Ogbogu. The third quarterback is Drew Henson.
