In 2021, Natalia Dorantes was named Coordinator of Football Programs for the Washington Football Team. As the coordinator of football programs, she became the first Latina in the NFL to ascend to that role. There are 20 similar positions in the NFL, though the title varies by team, including assistant to the head coach, chief of staff and director of coaching operations.
In this role, Dorantes works with Rivera on scheduling, planning and managing his calendar. She also works with various department heads, managing inbound requests for Rivera. In addition, her responsibilities include helping to coordinate draft, free agent and scouting meetings. She also works closely with director of football operations Bryan Porter, head athletic trainer Al Bellamy and equipment manager Drew Hampton and manages Washington's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship Program.
Prior to Washington, Dorantes held the role of creative recruiting coordinator at Texas A&M from 2017 – 2021. The Aggies had top-10 recruiting classes in both 2019 and 2020. During that time, she had a variety of duties and responsibilities, including working with the recruits and their families during the process, coordinating tasks surrounding official visits, junior days and photoshoots, and ensuring the coaching staff's message was accurately conveyed to the recruits.
Dorantes also held various social media roles with the National Football League as a social media producer in 2017 and the Arizona Cardinals as a social media intern from 2015-17.
Dorantes holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University.
