"Swaggy" had a special night.
Chris Baker went back to his home state Thursday to be inducted into The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford Hall of Fame.
Baker, originally from Windsor, Conn., wrote he was "privileged, blessed and honored" for the induction.
Last year, Baker began his "Chris Baker Foundation," dedicated to improving literacy and financial literacy.
"Windsor means a lot to me," Baker said at the launch last year. "I'm just trying to make a positive influence on all the youth coming up. Let them know that if you want to succeed you have to work hard and you have to strive to be the best at everything that you do, whether it's education or sports."
The program is web-based and last fall, Baker extended his foundation into Washington, D.C., at the Wheatley Education Campus.
"It's something they can do here [or] at home," Baker said in November. "They can take it home to have their parents help them out with their education programs. It's something to help them reach their scores in reading and writing."
Congrats on the achievement, Chris!
