Born and raised in American Samoa, Commanders Linebacker Frankie Luvu came to the United States with a mission to support his family and make it to the National Football League. Now as he shines at the games highest level, he looks to inspire the next generation of Polynesian athletes and finish the job his brother started many years ago.

What legacy or impact do you hope to leave behind, both professionally and personally?

I am proud to be a Sansei Japanese American. My Asian heritage and my family is something that has shaped me professionally and personally. I hope to leave behind a legacy that is filled with empowerment, dedication, and collaborative achievements. I strive to be someone who builds strong, loyal relationships and makes the journey fun and enjoyable without sacrificing success. I want to be remembered as someone who achieved success in her career and still had a life that inspired her everyday outside of the office. I plan to continue to develop my professional and personal persona into someone who is diligent, conscientious, steadfast, quick-witted, direct, honest, and fiercely loyal with a bubbly spirit! I hope the impact I leave empowers others to follow your dreams and exude confidence in every room you walk into and be unapologetically yourself.

If you could highlight an AAPI historical figure who inspires you, who would it be and why?

An AAPI historical figure whom I find particularly inspiring is Yao Ming. His contributions extend beyond being a legendary basketball player; he has played a vital role in enhancing cultural exchange and promoting sportsmanship on a global scale. Additionally, his philanthropic endeavors, efforts in advancing financial literacy, and the acquisition of a professional basketball team facing financial challenges illustrate how athletes can leverage their influence to create meaningful change. This intersection of sports and finance aligns closely with my own interests and highlights the potential for impactful engagement in both realms.
