It often takes playing a few years with a team to prove why you deserve to have a food item or meal named after you in that city.

But Terrance Knighton's nickname is a walking advertisement for pot roast. So, it's time for food to return the favor for years of promotion, right? Well, that, and the fact that Knighton has quickly become a fan favorite in the Washington, D.C. region.

Harris Teeter teamed up with Knighton and will introduce a new signature sub sandwich called "The Capital Roast" that seems both hefty and healthy.

Selling at just $3.99 (!!!), the sub features roasted chicken, pepperoni and bacon topped with cheddar cheese, lettuce, pickles, oil, vinegar, ranch dressing and a dash of salt and pepper on a white flour tortilla.

Monday, Oct. 5, Knighton will make an appearance at the Spectrum Center Harris Teeter to personally introduce shoppers and fans to his Signature Sub Sandwich and sign autographs.

Maybe he'll even sign your sub.
