Former Washington Redskins' running back Clinton Portis is heading out on a four-day mission trip to Haiti as a part of the JBF Worldwide Global Ambassador Tour from April 7-11. This will mark the third consecutive year that Portis has traveled to Haiti with JBF Worldwide to continue its mission to "empower from within."

According to the Jack Brewer Foundation, "The JBF Worldwide Global Ambassadors Program connects influential individuals including current and former professional athletes, artist and celebrities to philanthropic organizations. These Ambassadors fulfill the promise of corporate social responsibility by engaging in global advocacy, building cultural diversity and activating their fans."

As the trip's Ambassadors, Portis, along with other professional athletes, will help support healthcare, education, sport development and environmental initiatives in Haiti. They will travel around to different areas of the country and participate in a full itinerary of philanthropic endeavors, which included a celebrity flag football game and softball game.

Portis had an amazing experience during last year's visit that helped fund a nationwide cervical cancer program estimated to save more than 3,000 lives each year, support 500 orphans through a holiday giving program and complete the donation and construction of the nation's first baseball field.

"It was great, man, it was a great experience," Portis said last April of his visit. "I think it's a great thing that a bunch of guys do… When we all sit and think about our kids and our lives and all of a sudden you see people that are born into something that don't know anything else, it's kind of re-fueling, it's something the world needs to see. It's a good cause."
