Legendary quarterback Doug Williams has his name etched into one of the three Lombardi trophies that sit in the lobby of Redskins Park, the place he now enters as a personnel executive.
On Wednesday, he'll have his name etched into Raymond James Stadium, too.
Tampa Bay will announce Williams' induction into the Buccaneers Ring of Honor, according to SportsTalkFlorida, where he will join the late Lee Roy Selmon, John McKay, Jimmie Giles, Paul Gruber, Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks as the seventh member.
The Bucs drafted Williams 17th overall in 1978 and he proceeded to play five seasons with Tampa Bay, leading them to three straight playoff runs, their first appearance ever as a team that included a 1979 NFC Championship bid.
In nine NFL seasons, Williams threw for 16,998 yards and 100 touchdowns while rushing for 884 yards and 15 touchdowns
After his playing career, Williams also played a large part in the Buccaneers' front office, working from 2004-2008 and again from 2009-2010.
Williams, of course, is also a part of the Redskins Ring of Fame, notably for his MVP performance in Super Bowl XXII, after he returned to the league in 1986.
