If you've been watching any preseason football, by now you've probably figured out that the number 50's at midfield are gold in every field.

This isn't just a preseason fad, however.

Throughout the entire season, NFL fields will have gold 50's at midfield to commemorate the 50th Super Bowl, which will be played this February in Santa Clara, Ca. Naturally, FedExField is ready to debut theirs Thursday night for the Redskins' preseason home opener.

As a result, Roman numerals will also be removed and replaced with "Super Bowl 50."

Midway through the season, sideline apparel will be laced with gold trimming for the celebration of a half-century of Super Bowls.

Oh and Pro Bowl jerseys will also have some gold on them. Gold on gold on gold.

King Midas would be happy.
