Redskins Training Camp To Open Thursday

RICHMOND, Va. – The countdown is officially on as the Washington Redskins open training camp this Thursday, July 28 at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond, Va. Redskins fans are encouraged to fill out their free Training Camp Fan Invitation, which is available by directing your browser to http://www.redskins.com/schedule/training-camp/sign-up.html.

The team will continue its Helmet Walk tradition following every session, as players select young fans at random from the crowd to join them on the practice field. On Saturday, Aug. 13, Fan Appreciation Day will feature "Jerseys Off Our Backs" presented by Bon Secours – during which each player will provide his official camp jersey to a fan following practice. Recipient selection will be at random and will include children only.

Bon Secours staff will be on-site daily, offering a variety of health screenings focused on cardio and neurology, pediatrics, orthopedics, sports medicine and more. In addition, a new nursing and changing station will be available for new moms. The Bon Secours Class-A-Roll, one of Central Virginia's first mobile learning kitchen, also will be on-site from Aug. 7 – 14.

Children ages 6-15 will have the opportunity to compete in order to win prizes. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (with the exception of Fan Appreciation Day on Aug. 13), kids ages 6-15 can test their skills with Punt, Pass & Kick, the NFL's oldest grassroots initiative, to experience the fun of learning football fundamentals in an engaging and supportive non-contact environment.
