Terrance Knighton knows what a winning culture looks like.

After playing with the Denver Broncos for the past two seasons, and being a part of some strong defenses, he believes success starts with understanding one another.

"Everybody just has to be on the same page," Knighton said Monday after the first day of OTA's. "Everybody has to come together. Guys have to hang out on and off the field and everybody has to be selfless and do what it takes for the team, and that's something that I learned in Denver."

How does that start? Knighton, after a brief discussion with defensive end Jason Hatcher, initiated a meeting with the defensive line as offseason workouts began.

"We were like 'Look, we've got to start hanging out, we've got to start knowing the guys we're playing with.' That's the only way this group can gel is if we start hanging out more and more, whether it's on the field, in the film room, or even when we're home."

It's especially important considering most of the defensive line is new to the team this year.

Knighton says there are no "me guys" on the line, that they are solely focused on winning, and that he's glad to have instituted some bonding time, so he, and the rest of the defensive line, can better know their teammates.

"We get together twice a week and hang out," Knighton said. "We've been watching the NBA Playoffs, eating dinner together and just mingling. It's good to know the person personally that you're playing with next to you. So that's just something I brought here."
