LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins and Inova Blood Donor Services will host a blood drive on Saturday, Jan. 10 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the team's indoor practice facility at Redskins Park in Ashburn, Va.

Redskins alumni Dexter Manley, Gary Clark, Ken Harvey and Ricky Ervins will be on hand to visit with donors throughout the day. All donors will receive a limited-edition Redskins Salute t-shirt, a tour of Redskins Park, the opportunity to take photos with the Super Bowl trophies and the chance to win a 2015 VIP Game Experience.

For more information or to sign up to donate blood, visit www.redskins.com/donateblood.

The blood drive is part of Inova's "Give Local, Save Local" campaign, which aims to drive awareness around the importance of blood donation by hosting a series of co-branded blood drives in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Donors will be designated as "Hometown Heroes" for their efforts to supply lifesaving blood products to the local community, including military facilities.

Inova Blood Donor Services supplies 24 hospitals in Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C. metro area with lifesaving blood and blood products. One blood donation can save up to three lives.

To give blood, donors must be feeling generally well on the day of their donation, be at least 16 years of age (with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and not have donated whole blood in the past eight weeks (56 days) or double red cells in the past 112 days. The donation process takes approximately one hour.

Aspects of each potential donor's health history are discussed as part of the donation process before any blood is collected. Each donor receives a brief examination, during which temperature, blood pressure and hemoglobin (iron level) are measured. For more information about eligibility requirements or to sign up online, call 1-866-BLOODSAVES or visit www.inova.org/donateblood.
