Who Ya Got? Several Redskins Pick NBA Finals Winners

Redskins head coach Jay Gruden is an Ohio guy, but that doesn't mean he'll be loyal to all Ohio guys.

"LeBron James or Stephen Curry," a reporter asked Gruden, shorthand for whether he believes the Cavaliers or the Warriors will win the NBA Finals, on Tuesday after practice.

"Ooh, that's a tough one," Gruden said. "I'm going with Steph."

Gruden followed his declaration with a preemptive, smiling "ooooh," mocking the faux controversy.

"I wouldn't bet on it," he clarified. "I like them both. I love basketball, man. It's going to be a great series man, it's going to be good."

Tight end Niles Paul echoed his head coach, unable to pick a winner.

"I'm just sitting on the fences, and I'm hoping for a good series," Paul said. "I love Stephen Curry. I love LeBron James. I want to see whoever wins it outright."

Wide receiver Pierre Garcon stayed true to his roots.

"Cavs," he said. "I went to school in Ohio, and that's the only reason why."

Fullback Darrel Young had a more personal reason with his answer.

"Cavs," he said. "I'm a LeBron fan. I like Steph Curry and respect everything he's going through, but I can't go against LeBron. I played against him in high school."

Yes, that's true. Young was just a freshman at Amityville High School, and it's probable he didn't have very much playing time on one of the best teams in the country, but he helped beat St. Vincent-St. Mary’s of Akron, Ohio, during a tournament in Delaware, 84-83.

It was one of Lebron James' several high school losses.

"It's ridiculous," Young said. "I was actually just reading his numbers in the weight room, and it's just ridiculous. I'm not surprised. He's LeBron James for a reason."
