Linebacker Will Compton has been having a busy offseason.

In late January, Compton joined his family as he was presented the Hometown Hero Award for doing something out of the ordinary, given to him by The Bonne Terre, Mo., Chamber of Commerce.

A few weeks later, he was out in Japan with tight end Niles Paul for Pro Tour Productions, visiting with military troops stationed in Misawa and helping with some football camps in the area. Plus, taking many selfies.

Last week, back home, Compton was given the opportunity to speak to a wrestling team at local Farmington High School.

He discussed the mental psychology of sports -- using the mind as a tool -- before the team participated in their end-of-year state tournament. Compton told The Redskins Blog that the school reached out to him because he's spoken several times around the area.

It would also appear that he's got a knack for public speaking and has even recently started some light Tony Robbins reading. More power to him.
