Both teams are currently led by quarterbacks drafted in the 2024 Draft. In their rookie seasons, the two signal-callers put together special seasons with Daniels leading the Commanders to the NFC Championship and Bo Nix helping the Broncos to their first playoff berth since 2015
In the first two matchups between Washington and Denver – 1970 and 1974 – the Burgundy & Gold defense prevented the Broncos from scoring a touchdown. Denver didn't score more than three points against Washington until 1980
The Commanders last battled the Broncos in Denver in 2023. Washington rallied from a 21-3 deficit to win 35-33, its largest road comeback since 1990
Memorable moment: January 31, 1988. Washington defeated Denver in Super Bowl XXII behind a historic performance by Doug Williams. The Washington quarterback set multiple records on his way to becoming the first African American quarterback to start and win a Super Bowl. The Burgundy & Gold scored 42 unanswered points in the win, including a record-breaking 35 points in the third quarter.
