How can I attend training camp events?
On Saturday August 6th the Commanders will host a practice event at FedExField from 6:45-9:00 p.m., with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. This free event will be open to the public and fans can claim tickets to sit in the lower bowl on a first come first served basis by visiting commanders.com/training-camp.
From July 27-August 18, practices will take place in Ashburn (21300 Coach Gibbs Drive, Ashburn, VA 20147) and fans can sign up for free for the chance to attend through a free fan lottery system. The free fan lottery sign up will become available closer to the start of training camp. Spots are not guaranteed, and fans will be notified closer to the start of training camp if they were selected for specific days. Practices are not open to the public if not selected through the free fan lottery
Is there an admission fee to attend training camp?
All events are free to attend.
What time do practices at Ashburn start each day?
The free fan lottery signs up will become available closer to the start of training camp, and practice dates and times will be shared at this time. Fans can sign up for updates and reminders at commanders.com/training-camp.
Additionally, fans who are selected to attend a specific practice session in Ashburn through the free fan lottery system will receive an email with "Know Before You Go" information, including what time gates open and what time practice begins.
What is the date and time of the practice event at FedExField?
The practice event at FedExField will take place on Saturday, August 6th from 6:45-9:00 p.m., with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. Specific gates and parking lots will be announced closer to the event.
How can I attend training camp practices in Ashburn?
Due to limited capacity and high demand, training camp practices at Ashburn are limited to select fans, local non-profits and community groups, and team corporate partners. If you are a Season Ticket Member, Suite Owner or team corporate partner, you will receive separate communication on how to take advantage of your exclusive access. Fans can sign up for free for the chance to attend through a free fan lottery system.

I am a Season Ticket Member; how do I gain access to training camp?
Season Ticket Members that selected the Business Network membership type have VIP access to training camp practices at Ashburn as part of their benefit. These members will receive priority to sign up for their desired day to attend. Following this, all Season Ticket Member will then get the priority to claim their spot while supplies last. Season Ticket Members do not need to enter the free fan lottery for the chance to attend. More details will be communicated to Season Ticket Members directly and will be listed on the Gold page. Do I need a ticket to attend training camp practices at Ashburn?
Fans selected through the free fan lottery will require registration, but it is not a ticketed event. If selected, the specific check-in process will be communicated in the "Know Before You Go" email.
Do I need a ticket to attend the practice event at FedexField?
FedExField will be a free, ticketed event. To claim your tickets please visit commanders.com/training-camp.
Do I need a parking pass for the practice event at FedExField and are passes free?
Parking passes are not required for this event on August 6th. Closer to the date, there will be an additional communication to ticketholders regarding the parking lots available for use.
Ride Share/ Uber Information for FedExField:
FedExField Ride Share: Rideshare lots are located off of Sean Taylor Road through the D-Green Parking Lot. Click here for a map of the stadium parking to help you find the location and follow directional signage to get to the Rideshare lot. Upon exiting the stadium bowl, it will take approximately 15 minutes to walk to the rideshare lot.
Do children need a ticket for the practice at FedExField on August 6th?
Children over the age of 2 will need a ticket to attend the practice event at FedExField. To claim your tickets please visit commanders.com/training-camp.
Do children need to register for training camp practices at Ashburn?
Your total number of guests must include children of all ages. Fans can sign up for the chance to attend through a free fan lottery system.
What is the mask policy at FedExField?
Masks are currently not required for the guests attending the practice event at FedExField, aligned with the most recent guidance from Prince George's County. Masks will be available at guest services locations (Gate A and Gate E) and hand sanitizer will be available throughout the stadium. The mask policy is subject to change and will be communicated prior to all events.
What is security like at the practice event at FedExField?
For security purposes, all visitors will go through a metal detector and bag check prior to entering the facility. All visitors and bags entering the facility grounds are subject to search by team security.
Will I have the opportunity to get player autographs at the practice event at FedExField?
At the conclusion of practice, fans will have the opportunity to receive autographs from current Commanders players and coaches and Washington Legends. Please stay tuned for more details on where at FedExField this will take place.
Is the practice event at FedExField rain or shine?
The practice event at FedExField will be rain or shine, unless in the instance of severe weather. Alerts, updates and schedule changes will be communicated day of.
Are any items prohibited at the practice event at FedExField?
We ask that you arrive early and travel light, as you will go through a metal detector and bag search. For safety reasons, prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
- Alcohol, drugs, illegal substances or any paraphernalia associated with drug use
- Pop up tents or shelters
- Fireworks or other explosives
- Flags or signs with poles
- Laser pens or pointers of any type
- Noisemakers or air horns
- Oversized bags
- Pepper spray/mace
- Chains, knives and spiked jewelry
- Weapons, knives, firearms or anything that security/police deem a weapon
- Drones or any other unmanned aircraft
- Bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, scooters (motorized or push), hover boards, Segways
- Megaphones, PA Systems, air horns
- Pets (service animals exempt)
- Any other items deemed unacceptable by event/facility management
What is the bag policy for the practice event at FedExField?
The clear bag policy is not in effect for practices at Ashburn.
The clear bag policy will be in effect for the practice event at FedExField on August 6th. To provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite fan entry into stadiums, NFL teams have implemented an NFL policy that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into stadiums.
The NFL Committee on Stadium Security unanimously recommended the implementation of this measure that will enhance public safety and make it easier for fans to gain access to all stadiums.
The NFL strongly encourages fans to not bring any type of bags, but outlined what is permissible. For more information on the Clear Bag Policy, please click here.
Beginning with preseason games, fans will be able to carry the following style and size bag, package, or container at stadium plaza areas, stadium gates, or when approaching queue lines of fans awaiting entry into the stadium:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12."
- Small clutch bags are permissible, if they are approximately 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, non-approved seat cushions*, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.
*Non-approved seat cushions include large traditional seat cushions that have pockets, zippers, compartments, or covers.
