Play Football Recap

Play Football Month was a busy time for our local youth community! Throughout Training Camp, we extended invitations to local flag football teams to join us for practice, meet the players, and participate in a helmet walk after practice! The Washington Commanders Charitable Foundation recently funded the start of the Digital Pioneers Academy football team for their inaugural season, and the team got to attend training camp for a VIP experience along with a meet and greet session with players. To kickoff the first season of Commanders NFL FLAG Leagues, we partnered with Prince George's County's Parks & Recreation team to host a no-cost clinic for local youth. To wrap up the month with back to back preseason games at Commanders Field, we had the opportunity for two Play Football inspired halftime shows. Loudoun NFL FLAG's 14u girls scrimmaged during Monday Night Football, promoting female participation in the sport. Following, the Springfield Youth Club's 8-pound football team squared off against a team of local mascots to wrap up our preseason and Play Football month with the Commanders!
