The Commanders hosted a women's college flag football matchup between the University of Virginia and Marymount University at the BigBear.ai Performance Center in Ashburn. This regular season game marks a major milestone as women's flag football was officially recognized as an emerging NCAA sport in January 2026.

The franchise recently announced its largest investment to date in the sport: a two-year commitment to 127 girls flag programs in the DMV which will amount to more than $1 million.
Clayton, who is a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, was treated to an all-expenses paid trip to New Orleans with her family. Clayton has been an integral piece for local powerhouse the Virginia Hurricanes, playing as both a safety and a wide receiver. And while her athletic prowess is unique, who she is as a person makes her stand out even more.
