WRCF Host Gatorade Junior Training Camp At Redskins Park
The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Gatorade teamed up to host the second Gatorade Junior Training Camp of 2018 at Redskins Park. 125 Loudoun County middle school students participated in an afternoon of football fundamentals and skill development.

On Saturday, Aug. 6, the Commanders welcomed Josiah Desper, an 11-year-old football lover who recently finished his maintenance treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and his family for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at FedExField. On the night of the team's open practice, Josiah was invited into the locker room by Coach Rivera, met his favorite players, received a personalized jersey, ran drills on the field and more.

This week, our rookie class embarked on a bus tour to visit the historical sights of Washington D.C. As a part of the Rookie Community Club, the goal of this trip was to introduce the players to their new home in the Nation's Capital and to pay tribute to our Nation's history. The tour highlighted the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial, where players were offered the chance to interact with the community and be present in the spaces where Martin Luther King Jr.'s impact on social justice has lead us to today. Last week, the Washington Commanders hosted Doug Herbert's B.R.A.K.E.S training program at FedExField for rookies and veterans to learn important safety skills on the road. The Commanders covered the cost of all Driver Training sessions for community members that signed up to participate on Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22. On Tuesday, April 26th, Washington Commanders co-owner and co-CEO Tanya Snyder, Head Coach Ron Rivera and his wife Stephanie Rivera and Commanders players Jonathan Allen and Jamin Davis teamed up with USO to hand deliver care packages to troops at BWI airport just before they board the plane for deployment. The USO2GO Packs handed out today were packaged during the Commander's packaging event held on March 10th at FedExField, when the team and USO together packed 4,0000 Care Packages comprising more than 24,000 items for troops. Inova and the Redskins teamed up to bring local emergency medical professionals to the Inova Sports Performance Center at Redskins Park to compete for the fourth Annual Hero Bowl Flag Football Title.

Five Redskins Read schools were invited to Redskins Park to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday.The schools rotated through five different stations – each station was themed around a different Dr. Seuss story. The stations included a variety of activities, including relays, obstacle courses and crafts.

The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation partnered with the Embassy of Qatar and D.C. United to hold the Qatar National Day of Sport event at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. Over 500 elementary school students from DC Public Schools participated in the event which featured physical activity stations and a tour of the National Children's Museum.

The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation hosted 200 elementary students, who also received Papa John's pizza lunch served by the players and cheerleaders. After lunch, students were divided into small groups where they rotated through four fun, holiday activity stations.
