The Washington Commanders are excited to celebrate the history and contributions of African Americans during the month of February and beyond.

Recognizing Black History Month goes beyond amplifying historic, barrier-breaking Black figures. Not everyone making an impact has their name in a news headline or on the back of a jersey. Some have worked behind the scenes to propel our organization's success, some have persevered during the toughest times to educate our youth, some serve our country through the military.

This Black History Month is about them — the Everyday Champions. This month of February, we'll be highlighting the impact of community leaders, HBCU athletes and our very own employees.

BEN's mission is to foster a community of support that Washington Commanders employees of the African Diaspora (African American/Black) can utilize for professional and personal development by facilitating networking events, mentorship opportunities, seminars, and other activities meant to enhance the overall employee experience.

We encourage our fans to support the black-owned small businesses that serve our community. The Washington Commanders' Black Engagement Network developed a Shop Black Shopping & Dining Directory of small businesses from all over the DMV that are owned by African Americans.
