A New Summer Home: The Redskins open training camp in Richmond, Va., at the brand new Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center. The last time the Redskins held training camp away from Redskins Park was in 2002 at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa.

Top Rookie: Quarterback Robert Griffin III caps of a record-setting season by being named the Associated Press' Offensive Rookie of the Year. Griffin III (29 votes) beat out fellow quarterbacks Andrew Luck (11) and Russell Wilson (10) in the voting. In 15 starts, Griffin III led the Redskins to as 10-6 record and a playoff appearance, and completed 258-of-393 passes (65.6 percent) for 3,200 yards with 20 touchdowns and a passer rating of 102.4. His passer rating and percentage of passes intercepted (1.27) set NFL rookie records, and he shattered virtually every Redskins rookie passing record and every team record for rushing by a quarterback in the process.

Division Champs: Rookie running back Alfred Morris sets the Washington Redskins single-season rushing record against the Dallas Cowboys in the final game of the season, passing Clinton Portis with 1,613 yards. Against the Cowboys at a rockin' FedExField, Morris has a dominant performance, rushing for 200 yards and three touchdowns and helping the Redskins lock up the NFC East division title for the first time since 1999.

Heading South: The Washington Redskins announce that they will move their summer training camp from their home in Ashburn, Va., in Loudoun County to Richmond, Va., beginning in 2013. The city of Richmond and the Redskins agree to keep training camp there for eight seasons, and work together to build a brand new facility, which would later be named the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center.

A New Quarterback: After acquiring the second-overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins select quarterback Robert Griffin III, who won the Heisman Trophy Award at Baylor University. The team had made a blockbuster trade with the St. Louis Rams to acquire Griffin III, trading away their sixth-overall pick and second round picks in 2012, as well as their first-round picks in 2013 and 2014.
