Clinton Portis Media Session

On how the team's performance in Dallas is influencing preparations for next Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks:

"We came out [of the Dallas game] with a win. You can't look back. We need to get a win next week when we play Seattle and continue winning. That's what we're focused on right now."

On if he expects to break out soon for a few 100-yard rushing performances:

"It's going to come. Right now, we're establishing our identity on offense. We just found out we have an incredible deep-ball game. The first game we found out that we can just run over people. Now, we have to combine that. Things are going to work out. As long as we're winning, I don't care how many yards I have."

On if he expects to score more touchdowns soon:

"I know I'm going to get [in the end zone] soon. It's been a slow start. We've only put up [23] points in two games. Santana is the only one who has gotten in the end zone so far. I know that mine are going to come. We have 14 straight games. I'm sure I'm going to find a groove somewhere in there and get in the end zone more."

On whether the Redskins' bye week has arrived too early in the season:

"I don't know. I've never had one [this early before]. We're going to find out at the end of the season. I'm sure the coaches are going to know when to pull up. Right now, we are taking it one week at a time. We're trying to get through the week that's ahead of us. We're not really looking at the whole season. I think that is helping us a lot. If we started looking at the 14 games we have [ahead of us] or looking ahead to our last game, we could lose 13 of those. We have to take it one week at a time. Depending on how the body feels, I'm sure that if something is wrong, [Coach Gibbs will] rest us."

On if he watches football on Sunday when not playing:

"I don't watch football on Sunday, but you can't totally forget about football. You know you have to come back to it. You get that one day off, but you get to thinking, 'I have to go to practice in two days.' It's going to be on your mind. You're going to think about it. But [the bye week is] a time to get away--relax, enjoy yourself, have fun, and don't get into any trouble. Then come back and focus on what we have to do. That's Seattle."
