Moss Eager to See Beck Prove Himself

Now that the Redskins' quarterback change is official, players are preparing to play with John Beck under center.

Running back Tim Hightower put the change in perspective so that the team operates as one unit moving forward.

"We still have the same goal, so I don't think it changes our approach, it doesn't change the offense, it doesn't change what we're going for," Hightower said. "We have one goal and we are going to take it one game at a time."

Hightower added: "For a good team who wants to consider themselves as one of the top teams, this can't change much of our focus."

Possibly the most vocal Redskins player of all was wide receiver Santana Moss. Earlier in the week, Moss gave a strong endorsement of Grossman, saying he should be given another chance.

On Wednesday, Moss said: "I was stating my opinion. Everyone has an opinion...Whatever coach decides to do, we are going to go with. He has to make the decisions that are in the best interests of the team."

While Moss believed that Grossman should be given another chance, he maintained confidence in Beck's ability to lead the offense, even if he has played just one quarter with him.

"I think he is a very talented quarterback who really hasn't had his shot yet to prove who he is in this league," Moss said. "He's one of those guys who wants to prove himself. He gets into what he does."

Players are standing behind their coach and starting quarterback, whomever that may be.

"Coach Shanahan has been around a lot longer than I have, and he has won a lot more championships then I have," wide receiver Donte Stallworth said. "He's the head coach and he makes the decisions. We obviously are going to back him with whatever he decides to do and move forward with it."
