Rob Rogers enters his 31st season in the NFL and his second as Vice President of Football Administration after spending four seasons as Senior Vice President of Football Administration. In this role, Rogers supports the current football leadership team in player contract analysis, negotiation strategy, salary cap management, player budget planning, football departmental budget planning, NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement compliance, football administration application development, and various other front office duties.
Prior to coming to Washington, Rogers held the title of Executive Director of Player Finance and Football Research for the Carolina Panthers (2018-2019) and prior to that was the team's Director of Football Administration for eleven years (2008-18). In each of these roles, Rogers was the Panthers' primary player contract negotiator and worked closely with the general manager on negotiation strategy, salary cap and roster management, player contract research, and player budget planning. In addition to his other roles, Rogers worked with both coaching and personnel on implementing best practices regarding the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement; as the club's NFL Management Council liaison, he advised on compliance with all NFL personnel, contract, and labor-related matters. Rogers was also involved in Carolina's efforts in football analytics and on multiple occasions contributed to the design and development of contract and cap analysis databases, personnel scouting systems, and opponent/self-scout game analysis applications.
Rogers joined the Carolina Panthers in 1995 in a role focused primarily on working closely with both coaching and the front office on technology implementation and process development. After the 1998 season, Rogers shifted to instead work within football administration on player contract and salary cap analysis as well as CBA compliance. Over the next ten years he expanded upon those duties, including an increasing role in the negotiation of draft and free agent contracts, before being named the team's Director of Football Administration in 2008.
For over two decades, Rogers has also been a member of the NFL Club Services Committee, comprised of various club front office executives brought together to provide guidance and feedback on technology integration initiatives to the development staff of the NFL Management Council.
Rogers and his wife Clair have two children: daughter Emma and son Brady.
