A list of stats and notes from the Washington Commanders' 41-24 win against the Raiders presented by EquiTrust Life Insurance Company, as compiled by Washington Commanders Public Relations.

General

  • The Washington Commanders defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 41-24 on Sunday afternoon.
  • Washington has started 2-0 at home for the second consecutive season. This marks the first time that Washington has started 2-0 at home in consecutive seasons since 2008-09.
  • Washington has started the season 1-0 against the AFC for the fourth consecutive season. This marks the first time that Washington has started 1-0 against the AFC in four consecutive seasons since 1985-88.
  • Washington has won their eighth game against the Raiders all-time, moving the all-time series to 8-7 in favor of Washington.
  • Washington has started the season 2-1 for the third consecutive year. It is the first time that Washington has started 2-1 or better in three consecutive seasons since 1990-92.
  • Washington has won their fifth consecutive game against the Raiders dating back to 2009.This marks the first time Washington has played the Raiders at home since 2017 when they defeated them 27-10 in Week 3.
  • Washington had four players record 20-plus rushing yards in the first half. It's the first occurrence in team history since at least 2000.
  • Dating back to last season, Washington has seven straight home games with 20-plus points, which is tied for the fourth longest streak in team history.
  • Washington has recorded a 60-plus yard kickoff return and 60-plus yard punt return in a single game for the first time since September 11, 1994.
  • Today marked, Washington's first regular season win with 40 or more points scored since Week 7 of 2024 versus the Carolina Panthers.
  • Washington's 41 points were the most in a single game since Week 13 of the 2024 season against the Tennessee Titans.
  • Washington has rushed for 200-plus yards in two consecutive home games for the first time since the 2024 season. It's the third occurrence in team history since 1996.
  • Washington's five sacks against the Raiders were the third-most all-time against the Raiders in a single game and the most since 2013.
  • Washington held the Raiders to three third down conversions, the fewest allowed in a single game since Week 17 of the 2024 season against the Atlanta Falcons.

Offense

  • QB Marcus Mariota completed 15-of-21 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown.
  • Mariota has defeated the Las Vegas Raiders for the first time in his career. Mariota becomes the 18th quarterback in NFL history to beat 25 different teams throughout his career.
  • Mariota recorded his 75th career start. Mariota is one of 18 active quarterbacks with at least 75 starts.
  • Mariota rushed for a two-yard touchdown in the first quarter. It was his 19th career rushing touchdown.
  • Mariota ranks tied for No. 11 among active quarterbacks in career rushing touchdowns.
  • Mariota recorded 38 rushing yards in the first quarter, the second-highest first quarter total in his career. Mariota rushed for 48 yards in the first quarter of Week 6, 2016.
  • WR Jaylin Lane returned five punt returns for 127 yards and one punt return touchdown.
  • Lane's 127 punt return yards are the third most by a rookie in a single game in franchise history behind Rickie Harris (146) and Ted Wilson (142). It is also the most punt return yards by a player since Derrick Shepard had 118 punt return yards in 1987.
  • Lane's 90-yard punt return touchdown is the first touchdown of his career and Washington's first since Week 5, 2016 (Jamison Crowder) and has tied Jacquez Green, who also had a 90-yard punt return touchdown in Week 2, 2002 for the longest in franchise history.
  • Lane is the first Washington rookie to record a punt return touchdown since Desmond Howard on Sept. 13, 1992.
  • WR Jaylin Lane and RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt became the first pair of rookies to score a touchdown in a game since DE Chase Young and S Kam Curl in Week 14 of the 2020 season. Lane and Croskey-Merritt became the first offensive pair since QB Dwayne Haskins and Steven Sims in Week 16 of the 2019 season.
  • WR Luke McCaffrey caught three passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.
  • McCaffrey recorded his first career touchdown reception.
  • WR Terry McLaurin caught three passes for 74 yards.
  • In his 100th career game, McLaurin has passed WR Bobby Mitchell for No. 5 on the all-time receiving yards list in franchise history (6,493).
  • McLaurin has eclipsed 6,500 receiving yards on his career. He's the fifth wide receiver in franchise history to hit the mark and the 15th active receiver with at least 6,500 career receiving yards.
  • McLaurin is the 11th receiver in NFL history to record 6,500 receiving yards in 100 career games or less.
  • RB Jeremy McNichols rushed for 78 yards and one rushing touchdown.
  • McNichols rushed for a 60-yard touchdown in the second quarter. It was the longest rushing touchdown of his career.
  • McNichols' touchdown was also the longest touchdown rush by a Washington player since Steven Sims in Week 5 of the 2019 season and the longest touchdown rush by a Washington running back since Adrian Peterson in Week 13 of the 2018 season.
  • WR Deebo Samuel Sr. caught two passes for 11 yards and rushed for 18 yards on three carries. He also had 93 kickoff return yards.
  • Samuel's 69-yard kickoff return is the longest of his career and Washington's longest since DeAndre Carter's 101-yard kickoff return touchdown in Week 4 of the 2021 season. It is the longest non-touchdown kickoff return since RB Rock Cartwright in Week 15, 2008.

Defense

  • DE Dorance Armstrong totaled five tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss and one quarterback hit.
  • Armstrong has recorded a sack in the first three games this season. He is one of seven players in the league to have an active streak of three games with at least one sack.
  • It is the first time in Armstrong's career that he has recorded at least one sack in three consecutive games.
  • S Will Harris had two total tackles and one pass defensed.
  • Harris recorded his 20th career pass defensed.
  • DE Javontae Jean-Baptiste had one tackle, one sack, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit.
  • Jean-Baptiste recorded his first sack of the 2025 season, and the second of his career.
  • OLB Von Miller totaled two tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit.
  • Miller recorded his 131st career sack. He leads all-active players in sacks and is currently 16th all-time in career official sacks (since 1982).
  • Miller registered his 10th career sack against the Las Vegas Raiders. Miller became the 17th player in NFL history to record 10-plus sacks against the Raiders.
  • Miller joins Chris Jones, Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa as the only active players in the NFL with 10-plus career sacks against Las Vegas.
  • DT Daron Payne recorded six total tackles, one quarterback hit and one tackle for loss.
  • Payne has tied DT Jonathan Allen for second on the all-time tackles for loss list in franchise history (60).
  • LB Bobby Wagner led the team with 11 tackles. He also added two sacks, three quarterbacks hits and one tackle for loss.
  • Wagner recorded two sacks in a game for the first time since Week 4 of the 2023 season.
  • Wagner is the first Washington player to record two sacks in a regular season game since Frankie Luvu against Philadelphia in Week 11 of the 2024 season.
  • Wagner joins LB Zach Brown as the second player in franchise history to start a season with three straight games with 10-plus tackles.
  • Since Wagner entered the league in 2012, he leads all players with 87 career games with 10-plus tackles.

Special Teams

  • K Matt Gay went 2-of-3 on field goal attempts and five-of-five on extra point attempts.
  • Gay's 56-yard field goal is his longest since Week 11, 2024.
  • P Tress Way punted three times for 138 yards including two punts inside the 20-yard line.
  • Way (182) has tied K Mark Moseley for ninth on the franchise's all-time games played list.
