Coach of The Week

Each week during the high school football season, the Redskins select one area high school head coach as the Redskins "High School Coach of the Week." The selection is based on the coach's continuing commitment towards promoting youth football, developing motivated student-athletes and his overall community involvement. Each of the coaches chosen throughout the high school season receives a $1,000 donation from the NFL Youth Football Fund to improve their football program. At the conclusion of the season, the Redskins will recognize the Coach of the Year. That coach will receive a $2,000 donation from the NFL Youth Football Fund.

Hometown Huddle

The Annual NFL Hometown Huddle event showcases the commitment of all NFL teams, including the Washington Redskins, to their local communities. Past events have included the renovation of a teen room at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington Clubhouse #11; "First Down for Fitness," an event to help promote exercise, nutrition and an overall healthy lifestyle for local youth; the renovation of the Dunbar High School locker room; the rebuild of two inner-city playgrounds; and a facelift for the recreation room at the Hospital for Sick Children.

NFL Youth Football

The Redskins actively support and participate in NFL league-wide programs designed to promote the game of football. Programs include "High School Coach of the Week," a youth football clinic featuring winning tips from former pros, and a month-long celebration of youth football during "Youth Football Month."
