FedExField, the home of the Washington Redskins, will be the site when the University of Notre Dame hosts the University of Maryland on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011.

"It is a privilege for FedExField to host of one of the most storied programs in college football history and match it against a university with a strong and successful local following," Redskins Chief Marketing Officer Mitch Gershman said. "This game will be an exciting event for our region as all eyes will be on FedExField.

"We couldn't have done this without the help of Prince George's County officials, who have supported us fully in our effort to continue to have exciting events at FedExField."

The game marks the second matchup between two of college football's 40 all-time winningest programs.

Their previous meeting came on Aug. 31, 2002, at Giants Stadium, with the Fighting Irish defeating the Terps 22-0 in the Kickoff Classic.

This will be Notre Dame's second trip to FedExField. The Fighting Irish defeated Navy 30-0 on Nov. 14, 1998.

Information on tickets sales and kickoff time will be released at a later date.

FedExField will also host Virginia Tech vs. Boise State on Sept. 6, 2010, Penn State vs. Indiana on Nov. 20, 2010, the 112th Army-Navy Game on Dec. 10, 2011 and Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati in 2012.
