MIAMI -- Chris Myers has more than three decades of broadcasting experience and has worked for Fox NFL since 2003. On Sunday, he'll serve as one of the sideline reporters for Super Bowl LIV between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.

But he's also worked plenty of Redskins games throughout his career, and he's very familiar with their new head coach, Ron Rivera. In fact, Myers covered Rivera and the Carolina Panthers during their run to Super Bowl 50 in 2015.

Myers discussed the partnership with Voice of the Redskins Larry Michael from Radio Row in Miami on Thursday. And based on the circumstances, he believes it'll be beneficial for both parties.

"For this situation, this is the best move, not only for the Redskins but for Ron Rivera," Myers said.

Myers described Rivera as "honest, straightforward kind of guy" who is well-respected, which falls in line with what nearly everyone has said about Rivera since the Redskins announced his hiring on New Year's Day.

Rivera will bring that persona to Washington as he attempts to build his newest franchise into a consistent winner.

"Always had, through thick and thin, the respect of his players," Myers said. "He never lost the locker room, none of that stuff went down."
