Gibbs Maintains Commitment to Redskins

For the second time is as many days, Joe Gibbs rejected a media report that suggested he was considering retiring as Redskins head coach after this season.

"I don't know where that [rumor] came from," Gibbs said during his Monday press conference. "I addressed it by saying I am excited about the future here. I haven't been excited about what we've gone through this season, but I think it's for a reason.

"My commitment when I came here was to try and do something to put the Redskins back in the situation where they are winning football games. That is my goal. That is what I committed to do and there is nothing that can change that."

The media report suggested that Gibbs was reevaluating his job due to health reasons.

Gibbs responded to that by saying: "My health is superb."
