Redskins great Sam Huff was honored prior to Sunday's Redskins-Giants game at FedExField.

The celebration was part of the franchise's 75th anniversary.

Huff, of course, was a Redskins' linebacker from 1964-67 and 1969. He previously played for the New York Giants from 1956-63, but was traded from the Giants to the Redskins.

Huff said his most memorable Redskins moment was defeating his former Giants time in 1966, when the Redskins erupted for 72 points and crushed New York 72-41 in the highest scoring game in NFL history.

Huff was considered one of the most physical, hard-hitting players in NFL history. He once graced the cover of Time magazine with the title, "The Violent World of Sam Huff."

He earned five Pro Bowl berths in his career, including 1964 with the Redskins.

Huff ended his Hall of Fame career with 30 interceptions. He had at least one interception in each season he played.

Huff's playing motto: "Never forgive and never forget."

The Redskins will honor one of the team's legends prior to each home game this season.
