Jason Taylor Training Camp Media Session

On fitting in with the team:

"I do not know everyone's name yet, but I feel like I am fitting in pretty well. I do not feel like a rookie because I do know some of the guys on the team that I have played against before."

On whether he worried about how he would be accepted by his new teammates:
"You worry about taking the focus off the guys that have been here and have worked hard for this organization with the whole dog and pony show that took place last week. They understand my reception is part of the business, and that I am here just to help this team win in any way I can. My ego is not one that is going to overshadow everybody, which my teammates understand and I have been well accepted."

On what he likes about the players on defense:
"There are a lot of talented players. I really like the secondary with Fred Smoot, Shawn Springs, and LaRon Landry, because they cover well and give you a chance to rush the passer. The defensive line is strong with Cornelius Griffin and Anthony Montgomery in the middle and Andre Carter opposite me, and the linebackers are all very good. This is a group that when I first researched when I got traded, and it is a group to be excited about."

On how difficult switching sides at the defensive end position can be:
"Playing football is like riding a bike, but switching sides is sometimes like riding a unicycle because it is just something you have to get used to. It has been fine though and there are a lot of things we can do with Andre Carter and I on the outside. Regardless of which sides we are playing on, we will be able to create a lot of pressure, force the quarterback to step up in the pocket, and help the defensive tackles make some more plays."

On taking out a full page ad in the South Florida papers thanking fans:
"I took out an ad in order to say ?thank you' to the fans for their loyalty and support. I spent 11 great years in Miami, made a lot of relationships, and still have my family and foundation down there, so it is still home."
