Portis Named NFC Offensive Player of Week

Clinton Portis has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Redskins' 32-21 victory over the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday.

Portis played a role in every aspect of the Redskins' offensive attack against the Vikings. He rushed 20 times for 76 yards and one touchdown, while also catching five passes for 48 yards.

He also threw a 15-yard touchdown pass, the third of his career, to Antwaan Randle El.

This is Portis' second offensive player of the week honor of his career and his first as a Redskin. He last was recognized while with Denver in Week 14 of the 2003 season.

The last Redskin running back to pick up offensive player of the week recognition was Stephen Davis in Week 11 of the 1999 season.
