Redskins Promote Schaffer

The Redskins have promoted Eric Schaffer to Director of Football Administration, the team announced on Monday.

Schaffer is entering his third season with the Redskins after two seasons as salary cap manager and contract negotiator. As part of his responsibilities, Schaffer will continue to direct player contract negotiations and manage the Redskins salary cap.

Schaffer also conducts extensive research and analysis of NFL player contracts and statistics throughout the League and is responsible for ensuring that the Redskins are in compliance with NFL personnel and salary cap rules.

Prior to joining the Redskins, Schaffer spent 11 years with International Management Group (IMG) in various roles.

Most recently, he served as the staff counsel for IMG Football, where he oversaw all legal issues related to 90 NFL clients and negotiated player contracts as an NFLPA registered agent.

Schaffer holds both a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Case Western Reserve University.
