Redskins Re-sign Long Snapper Albright

Fresh off his first Pro Bowl trip, long snapper Ethan Albright returned from Hawaii and signed a contract to stay with the Redskins in 2008.

He is the first Redskins free agent to re-sign with the club this offseason.

Albright, 6-5 and 265 pounds, has proven to be a model of consistency as the Redskins long snapper over the past seven seasons.

As long snapper, Albright plays a key role in snapping the ball on field goals and punts.

A 14-year NFL veteran out of North Carolina, Albright was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Miami in 1994 and spent his rookie season on the practice squads of the Dolphins and Green Bay Packers.

He joined Buffalo in 1996 and spent five seasons with the Bills, before joining the Redskins in 2001.

Albright has played in all 16 games of every season with the Redskins.

Around Redskins Park, Albright is affectionately known as the "Red Snapper" due to his bright red hair.
