Redskins Re-Sign Offensive Lineman Tony Bergstrom

Signed to provide depth for an injured offensive line in 2017, Tony Bergstrom will once again provide the Redskins with a veteran presence that has experience at both guard and center.

The Washington Redskins announced on Monday that they have re-signed offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bergstrom, 31, first joined the Redskins as a midseason signing last October. The Utah product would appear in nine games with three starts, splitting his time between center and guard.

The Salt Lake City native appeared in four games with the Ravens to start the 2017 season before being released on Oct. 23. Four days later he signed with the Redskins.

Bergstrom made his Redskins debut on Oct. 29 against the Dallas Cowboys, appearing on four offensive snaps. His three starts came in Weeks 10-12 against the New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers and Dallas.

For his career, Bergstrom has appeared in 53 games with seven starts over his first six seasons in the NFL between Washington, the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders.

Bergstrom first entered the NFL as a third round pick (No. 95 overall) for the Raiders in the 2012 NFL Draft. In four seasons at Utah, Bergstrom appeared in 48 games with 39 starts at right tackle.

With his signing, Bergstrom re-joins an offensive line that includes Brandon Scherff and Chase Roullier in the interior.
