Redskins Select CB Tryon In 4th Round

The Washington Redskins announced April 27 that they have selected cornerback Justin Tryon in the fourth-round (124th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft.

This selection represents the Redskins fifth pick of the 2008 NFL Draft, and their first resulting from a trade with the Tennessee Titans.

The Redskins acquired the Titans fourth-round selection (124th overall) and fifth-round selection (157th overall) for their fourth-round selection (103rd overall).

Tryon (5-9, 190 pounds) started all 26 games during his two seasons at Arizona State. He recorded 103 tackles (80 solo), four interceptions, 23 pass deflections and one touchdown for his college career.

In his final season, Tryon ranked 11th in the nation with 19 passes defended (16 deflections and three interceptions) and ranked fifth on the team with 56 tackles (43 solo).

He was a third-team All-American choice and All-Pac 10 Conference second-team pick.

Tryon attended San Joaquin Delta College after graduating from Taft High School in Woodland Hills, Calif., but did not play football in 2003.

He enrolled at College of the Canyons in 2004 and earned second-team All-Western States Conference honors.
